KOIE has sealed the launch of their upcoming game Samurai Warriors 2 Xtreme Legends which is going  gold and will be playable for the Playstation 2 and Xbox 360 from the third quarter of march. The Xbox 360 version is an expansion that will be available on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 2400 MS Points, but only to those who already own Samurai Warriors 2.
The Playstation 2 version will be available in stores on the same date, which can be used to amp up the Samurai Warriors 2 experience or be played on its own as an entirely new Samurai Warriors experience.

Featuring new characters, levels and play modes, Samurai Warriors 2 XL aims to enhance the Samurai Warriors experience by adding a multitude of new features such as enabling owners of SW2 to power up all of the original characters with new charge attacks, a fifth new weapon and increase their growth level from 50 to 70. Players are also able to use the brand new SW2 XL characters in SW2’s Survival, Story and Sugaroku modes.

Sierra Entertainment announced the latest installment in the 20 million-unit selling Spyro franchise, The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night, is now available at retail stores nationwide for the Wii, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance and coming soon for mobile phones.

The key to the Burnout series has always revolved around driving dangerously. Burnout Dominator is more impressive on the PSP than it is on the PlayStation 2, and you get the distinct impression that this game was designed with the PSP in mind because it has more in common with something like Burnout Legends than with Burnout Revenge. While the experience may feel a little bit scaled back in spots, this is still a fast-paced driving game with a good sense of speed.

While the game moves quickly, it does so at the expense of overall visual quality. The car models are chunky and occasionally ugly. The crashes don’t deform those car models very much, so they aren’t the huge, dramatic events that they’ve been elsewhere.

Also, if you’ve been playing Burnout in HD on the Xbox or Xbox 360 lately, it can be hard to transition to the PSP’s small screen or the PS2’s very blocky-looking display. It can be tough to make out other cars at a distance, and the game moves so quickly that you need to identify those threats as soon as possible. The PS2 version supports 480p, which cleans up the image a bit, but it doesn’t completely solve the problem. And in case you were wondering, the PS2 version of the game seems to run well on a PlayStation 3.

London children’s game publisher Blast! Entertainment will be putting together a game that will likely be based on the Mr. Bean animated series, which enjoys a large following among UK kids under 11.

Details are slim – players will need to help Mr. Bean find his missing Teddy along with his girlfriend Irma Gobb. It will include 3D levels riddled with ‘tricky traps’. The exclusive deal snags Rowan Atkinson for involvement.
