John M. R. Kneuer resigning as digital TV transition chief

The lawmakers have been sweating the fact that not a whole lot of Americans are truly informed about the quickly approaching 2009 digital TV cutover, and now it seems the effort to spread the word will be led by someone new. John Kneuer, the current head, will be stepping down this month “to pursue new opportunities,” leaving the role of administrator of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration. An agency spokesman did note that the resignation was Kneuer’s “own decision” and that his departure “would have no impact on the preparations for the transition. As it stands, Meredith Baker, deputy assistant secretary, will be stepping in to cover his duties, but the White House should be nominating an official replacement soon enough.
Hellgate London Single Player Demo’s Review and Downlaod
Apparently the EA press release was more accurate than the game’s web site. The PC single player demo for Hellgate London has been released, allowing folks to sample the upcoming Flagship Studios developed action-RPG before it ships to stores on Oct. 31
Flagship Studio’s Hellgate: London has now gone gold, and in commemoration of this event, a single-player demo has been released today.
It has a design remincsent of the Diablo series, which in turn was based on earlier games utilizing a random dungeon-creation engine. You can play the game as one of six classes,a Templar Blademaster or Guardian which is a primarily melee character, a Cabalist Evoker or Summoner, or a Hunter Marksman or Engineer .Word in certain forums across the Internet say that the open-beta of the game is quite fun, but is somewhat buggy considering how close it is to release.
While the demo is single player only, the game has a large online component. In the full release there should be PvP and other MMO-ish type elements, however, this content may be limited to subscribers yes, that’s right, subscribers. This has been another point of contention on Internet forums while you can play the game online without subscribing, for those that choose to take the optional 10$ monthly fee, more content is unlocked, such as hardcore game mode, the aforementioned PvP arenas, and great deal of other content, including a rumored 3 new classes at launch.

WWE The Long Journey
The ealier days of WWE were the ones that were memorable, when there were some real superstars like the Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan (before becoming the fun factor) and Bret ‘the Hitman’ Hart. The sport’s pretty much lost its charm now, and all the epic matches have been replaced by enough drama to fuel a soap opera and enough scantily clad babes to make you feel you’re at the Playboy Mansion.
Compared to the present show of WWF the game counterpart has achieved more fame and success..
Developed by Midway, WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game was more a fast-paced two-player brawl than a real wrestling game. Grapple maneuvers were limited to basic throws, so you’d spend most of your time just punching your enemy to a pulp. In spite of this, the game managed to draw the beat ‘em up crowd because of its arcadish special moves and gorgeous visuals.
Although there were only eight playable characters, each one had rather unrealistic special moves – the toothpick-flinging Razor Ramon for instance, could turn his hand into a razor’s edge and whack his opponent with it (close shave, chico!), and his other move allowed him to pick his opponent up by the feet and flail him around like an old carpet.Although the game ran in 2D, this was one of the first wrestling games to use character sprites made of real images of the wrestlers they represented.
