Review: Ultrasone HFI-580
German headphone maker Ultrasone’s HFI-580s has made some recent moves to kick their headphone line into high gear. The Ultrasone HFI-580 is a closed-earcup headphone that block out noise without plugging up your ear canals or using active cancellation circuitry and create a private listening space between your ears.
Ultrasone’s full-size closed-back HFI-580 headphones which is super comfortable and manages a clean, highly dynamic, brightly textured presentation. Ultrasone’s “natural surround sound” S-Logic technology - which some listeners feel imparts a bit of hollow sound in certain spots. The Ultrasone HFI-580 is pretty hip-looking, with a matte black finish and silver accents and can swivel about 60 degrees horizontally and about 170 degrees vertically, enbling single-ear listening. The HFI-580 headphone features includes fold for compact storage, tremendous bass power, good sound quality and radiation shielding.
Ultrasone package includes a soft fabric carrying bag, a screw-on 1/4-inch adapter, and a demo CD of very well-recorded musical selections. For the DJ, recordist, musician, or music afficionado it is seeking a well-performing closed-earcup headphone with outstanding ergonomics & cosmetics.
