Review: Apple iPhone 3G

apple_iphone.jpgApple iPhone 3G, a new generation smartphone with lots of new features including faster 3G wireless network, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and Third-Party applications. Apple didn’t make changes regarding design of the handset as previous version of iPhone and iPhone 3G are almost identical to each other. The contact is that the new 3.5 mm headset jack has being introduced and the controls are now in silver in place of black.

Apple iPhone has improved its 3.5 inches display screen, 480 x 320 pixel display from 160 dots per inch to 163 dots per inch. Apple’s new MobileMe sevice will allow you to synchronize contacts, photos, bookmarks, messages. Apple didn’t change the iPod function even with increasing the features of iPhone. After introducing such features, the old and same 2 - megapixel camera with flash and self potrait mirror missing as its predecessor, but slight improvement in picture quality.

Apple iPhone 3G’s support UMTS/HSDPA wireless broadband network which delivers speed of 300Kbps and above. It takes a huge lead over the EDGE by providing 2 - 3 times the speed of 2.5G EDGE. In other countries other than United States, the iPhone’s tri-band (850/1900/2100) UMTS/HSDPA will deliver 3G coverage. Using 3G will suck your battery much faster, so its recommended to switch on 3G only at time of use.

iPhone user can find Remote Wipe and integration with Cisco IPSec VPN for remote network access. Apple has left out some feature like Video recording, multimedia messaging, stereo bluetooth and file transfer through iTunes. Users have to e-mail files to access these files on iPhone.
