| It's a limited edition camera. A 35mm camera with a 35mm f/1.8 lens. Rangefinder. Built in the 21st century, but looking like something from the 1960s. It's solid, elegant, and clearly well thought out. I could never afford one, but did get a chance to handle it and shoot a roll of film through it. Unfortunately many of the owners will probably keep it wrapped up in its original box as a collectible. Like so many Leica folks do. But it's a usable collectible, intended to be used. Buy some black and white film, learn (again) to use a rangefinder, and develop it in your basement. They only made 2500 of them, but I see that there are some for sale here and in the British photo magazines. If you have the money you can buy the latest and greatest retro camera. Will there be another 35mm rangefinder? |
